David Ribchester, of Washington, was faced jail after he pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey to fraud by false representation
A sportsman who tried to claim nearly £1m for a work-related accident was caught out when investigators filmed him playing rugby.
Refrigeration engineer David Ribchester told specialists that he was no longer able to take part in the sport, play the drums for his band or even carry his infant daughter, a court heard.
But, insurance investigators filmed the 31-year-old training at a local rugby club and driving himself around.
Ribchester, of the John F Kennedy estate, Washington, was told he faced jail after he pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey yesterday to fraud by false representation.
