CCTV of burglary caught red handed on CCTV as he burgles homes of rich and famous in Wimbledon - including tennis legend Boris Becker
He’s been captured on camera breaking into several multi-million pound homes in south London. He targets the rich and famous and detectives believe he's responsible for over one hundred and forty offences, including at the family home of tennis legend Boris Becker.
For the past 7 years he's targeted many properties in the Wimbledon area. He spends several days plotting a route into a house, and cuts CCTV cables around the properties so he is not seen. He doesn't take that much the first time he enters, and often the owners of properties are unaware that they have been burgled. The suspect often uses ladders to scale fences and break in through upstairs windows.
CCTV images show him as far back as 2008, in some of the footage he has his hand to his mouth. Officers think he was recording notes on a dictaphone that he can then use the next time he breaks in. On the 29th March last year he burgled a home in Bathgate Road, Wimbledon, he got away with a quantity of cash and jewellery. He was caught on CCTV when he opened a door, he was clearly not expecting to see the camera.
In another clip he’s seen casually walking around a kitchen where he takes his time inspecting drawers. The intruder wears a tracksuit, gloves and a hat.
In October this year the burglar was caught on CCTV attempting to get into the home of Boris Becker on Wimbledon Common. This was about 00:50hrs. The alarm goes off, and he escapes. But officers know he’s tried to gain entry to the house on another occasion afterwards.
